Akira Takarada as Hideto Ogata in Godzilla (1954) - Autographed 'Oxygen Destroyer' Publicity Photograph. 宝田明のサイン入り写真。

• Signed Photo
• Size: 8x10

Akira Takarada is no doubt one of the most familiar faces in the Godzilla film franchise starting with the very first film. He appeared as Hideto Ogata in Godzilla (1954). Since then he’s appeared as Ichiro Sakai in Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Astronaut K. Fuji in Invasion of Astro-Monster (Monster Zero) (1965), Yoshimura in Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster (1966), Lt. Commander Jiro Nomura in King Kong Escapes (1967), Doctor Ken Tashiro in Latitude Zero (1969), Environmental Planning Board Chief Jyoji Minamino in Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992), UN Secretary General Naotarô Daigo in Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). Mr. Takarada also played a Japanese Immigration Agent in Legendary’s Godzilla (2014) but his scene never made it into the final film.

This photograph was signed by Mr. Takarada at a U.S. convention appearance in Houston during the weekend of May 22-24, 2015. A photo of the signing appears above.

Mr. Takarada signed his name in BOTH kanji and English cursive.

This signed black and white photo features a shot of Mr. Takarada as Hideto Ogata with Emiko looking at the Oxygen Destroyer held by Doctor Serizawa from the original Godzilla (1954). I don't think this shot made it into the movie and must be a publicity photo, in which case, that's a nice bonus. (Sorry if I'm wrong!)

All photos are SIGNED IN SILVER. (A sample appears above.)

Also, NOTE, Mr. Takarada likes to mix things up, so no two autographs look completely the same. He often changes the position of his name and often adds different "swooshes" (or no swooshes at all) in his cursive name. The above photo may not look exactly the same as the one you'll receive.

This would make an amazing addition to your Godzilla or autograph collection!

Your photo will come in a photo-friendly, acid-free sleeve with an acid-free cardboard backing. It will be shipped to you in a heavy-duty black Stayflats® Mailer which will resist bending and folding.
