Akira Takarada is no doubt one of the most familiar faces in the Godzilla film franchise starting with the very first film. He appeared as Hideto Ogata in Godzilla (1954). Since then he’s appeared as Ichiro Sakai in Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Astronaut K. Fuji in Invasion of Astro-Monster (Monster Zero) (1965), Yoshimura in Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster (1966), Lt. Commander Jiro Nomura in King Kong Escapes (1967), Doctor Ken Tashiro in Latitude Zero (1969), Environmental Planning Board Chief Jyoji Minamino in Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992), UN Secretary General Naotarô Daigo in Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). Mr. Takarada also played a Japanese Immigration Agent in Legendary’s Godzilla (2014) but his scene never made it into the final film.

This photo features a dramatic shot of Mr. Takarada holding his hand out in front of the camera. This is a publicity shot for Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964) and can be found composited into one of the original movie posters. And, woah, this shot looks like it was just made for getting signed will look fantastic on your wall.

Mr. Takarada signed his name in BOTH Kanji AND English cursive.

NOTE:
The photos of the autograph and of the signing session above show only 1 of 5 photos of this type we had signed and may not match precisely what you'll receive. Each autograph differs somewhat in appearance. Mr. Takarada made a point to sign his name in English cursive in slightly different spots.
